This beautiful antique French three piece garniture clock, entitled Les Roses, was sculpted by Par J. Garnier. Jean Garnier was a 19th-century French sculptor best known for his bronze figures and decorative vessels. Born in 1853 in Mouzeuil, France, Garnier would go on to exhibit at the Salon des Artiste Francais, winning an honorable mention in 1892.
This three piece figural bronze garniture set includes a clock featuring a woman and cherub on a rouge marble base with 2 urn shaped side pieces. All are in perfect condition. The clock dial is enamel with painted floral decoration and Arabic numerals, brass hands, two winding holes, and a brass outer ring. The spelter figures and urn sits on a rouge marble base with ormolu mounts and feet. It has an eight day movement, pendulum, strikes on a bell on the hour and half-hour. Key included.
